    The United States is declining to co-sponsor a draft United Nations resolution marking three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which reaffirms Kyiv’s territorial integrity and demands Russia withdraw its troops, according to three diplomatic sources cited by Reuters.

    This decision signals a potential policy shift from Ukraine’s powerful Western ally.

    Countries can still opt to co-sponsor before the 193-member General Assembly votes on Monday, diplomats told Reuters.

  18. Europeans, please do not hold out much hope of persuading Trump/Musk to uphold the decades of transatlantic solidarity that benefitted us both. All the advice I can give is to avoid giving Trump attention (positive or negative). And please do not repeat our mistakes in your upcoming elections. Stomp the Putin apologists.

  32. These next few years will test us all, and I am hopeful that we as Europeans can come together to face the enemy in the east as one. I am hopeful the US betrayal will only unite us. That being said I really don’t envy the US citizens.

    It’s easy to be one of the “good guys”, while you, your government and the majority of the world is on the same side. I can’t imagine what it’s like for the sane people out there that see through Trump and Musk’s fuckery. I guess all of this will test the american people too – will they speak or act up though? This will be as much of a fight for their own democracy as it is for all of the European continent.

  33. Well free world it’s been nice knowing you. To the rest of you, I’ll be seeing you in the trenches when the US policies take the rest of the world to war. Hopefully we’re fighting on the same side.

    What a shitshow to bring children into. Most of my friends are having kids these days and I just can’t help but think we’ve doomed those kids to fighting in a future war.

    With so many cuts to the US federal employees, you know someone who is radicalized by US policies, perhaps an angry Ukrainian who has had their family killed, life robbed, and country soldiers out will seek to take revenge on the person they deemed responsible which is like lighting a match in a tinderbox and all hell will break lose.

    2025 the fall of the US and the end of the world as we’ve knew it.
