  27. People voted for Trump mostly for entertainment, believing that the show wouldn’t affect their comfort. Currently, it’s still more entertaining than unpleasant, but at some point, that will change.

  29. As one of the millions of Americans that has voted democratic and despises everything MAGA, I extend my apologies and heartbreak to Europeans. I’m a 2nd generation Italian American and UK American.

    So many of us are completely opposed to all of this and have been opposed to trumpism from the terrible beginnings in 2016.

    Please don’t lose sight of this fact. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Europe and will always consider Europeans as brethren in democratic values, fairness, and kindness.

    We are going to keep fighting and I have hopes that the pendulum has swung way too far this time.

  41. I wonder what the Russians have on Trump. For one so vainglory as Trump, it has to be something pretty substantial for him to steer the US so off course in terms of its foreign policy to appease Russia when he is otherwise very confrontational with any other imaginable foreign country. It makes no sense that out of all the world’s countries, that Russia is the country he’s most pleased with, regardless of how much he admires Vladimir Putin.
    I find it hard to believe that there isn’t something more to it, because Trump tends to be very quid pro quo – he wants something for something. And usually in favor of him. But with Russia he’s seemingly willing to hand over everything for nothing. And even for Trump that strikes me as mindboggling.
