    The son is 33 not 13, unless Nic has a conservatorship over the adult son, which the article doesn’t state, what precisely is he supposed to do? Maybe if he wound him up and then that directly led to the attack, but the article also doesn’t say that.

    I say this as a person with an adult son with legal troubles. There isn’t much you can do without a court order against the adult child. Other than filing for said conservatorship, which is costly and difficult, or cutting them off completely, which isn’t going to improve their mental state if you think there is any hope of it improving.

    It’s a shit sandwich of a situation.

  4. I have a friend who met Weston at a club. He then proceeded to take her back to his dads yacht and partied with him and Nic Cage who enabled a lot of weird behaviour. So this doesn’t seem like a stretch, but he’s an adult. And was when this happened like 13 years ago. Just bad parenting.

  5. We don’t want to live in a legal climate where you’re held liable for other adults behavior. First it’s your adult son, then someone else you know then your neighbor two doors down…

  16. I think Cage isn’t morally accountable but is rich enough that he should pay his ex’s injuries if their son is the one who caused it.
