  1. > Aleksei appears to be one of the hundreds of Russian soldiers **covertly sent** to North Korea

    * An interview with full quotes from the soldier requesting some R&R from the state who is then given the choice to try North Korea, which he then accepts, saying “It wasn’t what I expected, but I thought I should try it out”.
    * Quotes from Russia’s ambassador to Pyongyang literally stating, “hundreds of Russian soldiers” who fought in Ukraine were “undergoing rehabilitation in North Korean sanatorium and medical facilities.”
    * The Guardian gets direct quotes from a representative of a Russian tour agency that facilitated soldiers’ trips last summer.

    > **covertly sent**

Why is the western press like this 💁‍♂️?

  2. The North Korean saga continues.

The entire article looks like a fabricated excuse to once again rehash the same old tired talking points and tropes about Russia, uprovoked invasions, NK troops in Ukraine, russian soldiers complaining about the lack of alcohol, NK food being bland and tasteless, and it goes on and on and on.

Everything supposedly quoted from the Russian ambassador in NK that the article links to is horribly twisted into something it isn’t. He’s talking about the general relations with NK, tourism, etc. – nothing is there about any soldiers being sent to recuperate.

There’s one thing that all of these “true story bro” article writers are missing, and that is that after 3 years of nothing but being lied about, misrepresented and smeared in the dirt, _no self respecting Russian solder_ would ever give an interview to any western media outlet to begin with. They are all sewers filled with garbage people.
