No no, this is very important. How did this even happen?
The BBC always pivots from massive news to calmer stuff, like how Jeremy Vine did interviews about Starmer upcoming meeting with Trump before moving on to less important domestic stuff like the film industry, etc…
This is because UK news agencies don’t engage in sensationalism as much as US agencies do, as in the UK many who listen to the news prefer it to go on in the background instead of being active listeners.
This is brilliant. Not great if you are looking to make cucumber sandwiches but if you want a baked bean sandwich which doesn’t fall a part the loaf ends are excellent.
If they were only allowed to publish one news story a day and they went with this one you’d have a point.
Do people actually think the BBC only put out one news story a day or something?
The thing is that people die all the time. But a loaf full of crusts? I don’t think that has even happened in my lifetime.
They just another conservative, reform mouth piece
Dark times
Sometimes I wonder how many of the people who post here even live in the UK.
Nah, I have the BBC app and it tells me about someone being murdered most days.
Wow! Bread that was just CRUSTS ?
I can hardly believe it!
But what I see in the States… is what I have seen coming ever since Reagan made it legal to tell lies on TV “News.”
And they aren’t *just* lies, either. They are big black ugly lies meant to tear society apart.
**As far as America is concerned, bad news isn’t “news” anymore.**
Tbh I would rather have this than all the Trump free PR they are giving.
I made a giant rectangular burger once because I only had two crusts. Perfectly tailored. Used one of the crusts as a template and made it with a 10% overlap to allow for contraction & shrinkage. Centimetre thick with melted Black Bomber & fried onions on it. Buttered the bread & everything, didn’t even fucking care. It was brilliant.
We are light spirited, what can I say?
I’m glad. I don’t want the BBC being full of US crap. Get enough of that online.
No, having weird news is really good for you. If the news is nothing but doom and gloom people start killing each other.
Breaking it up into also “huh, this loaf is just bread crusts wtf?” is good for you,
If you think EVERYTHING is horrible, you stop behaving like there’s light in the end of the tunnel, and you start caring less about other people. Trying to pain your own situation as the WORST THING IN THE WOLRD is a disservice to you and to the people who suffer worse than you.
Everything is not terrible, there are tons of good things and good people out there. People are scared, which means we need to care for each other instead of just screaming about how everything is terrible. People are dying. But a lot of people are alive to do something about it.
A much better thing to do is to act, rather than wish that the news were just doom and gloom so you could sink down into comfortable apathy because there is nothing to do. Everything is terrible. Everyone is terrified. People are dying.
If I got a loaf full of toppers I’m going insane. Rightly so, this IS news.
Imagine getting home and finding out your entire loaf is nothing but the slag ends, and someone on reddit says it’s not news worthy.
The humanity
Honestly, the state of the world nowadays…
Anyway, on a lighter note, what’s all that going in the US news?
I’d love a loaf full of toppers!
Huh? Have you watched BBC News for the past like 2 weeks? Foreign affairs and geopolitics has been the headline story pretty much every single day.
She should think herself lucky. When the Russians win, she’ll have to queue outside in the freezing cold for 2 hrs for a single crust.
I wish this happened to me. I love the crusts.
meh
Do you really think the good people of the USA care if there pay is rising, taxes are lowered and they can afford to take a day off once in a while? Most could even point to Brussels on a map so I’m gonna go with nope… Here in Europe we are just happy with always being poorer while our politicians fuck us in to low wage and high tax slavery for their green agenda billionaires to exploit. Things need to change and that’s why Trump is winning and the AFD and Reform. They aren’t the hero we need but they may be better than the villain we have.
This is way more interesting than the news coming out US wdym.
She did it for the gram!
I‘d consider it a gift from up high, a sign of a bountiful future. Either that or a late Friday afternoon shift at the bakery.
I like my local news due to these ‘lighter’ news stories. Cat stuck up a tree sort of stuff is a real palate cleanser considering current events!
Omg this would be like winning the lottery for me. I love the crust!
Have to say who wants to read a constant stream of negative news? Nobody. The US does the same sort of pieces too to be honest
Give me that loaf
It’s funny, but sadly I think BBC isn’t much better than American media at the moment.
Both are shit.
It’s the butterfly effect that the turmoil in US politics has taken the shape of, once it’s reached the UK.
Is that supposed to be better? You don’t think the news in the states being hysterical nonsense might have something to do with the way that they’ve lost it?
