Just to remind everyone, this is insanity. Government want to browse our data without a court order or even a crime number. This is totalitarian measure.
Edit:
Actually people were correcting me in comments below, there are some innacuracies in my statement
A dark fucking day for privacy in the UK.
We best not say anything bad about Supreme Leader Starmer.

Voting has consequences.
That explains why macos crashed when I tried to enable it last week! Ffs this country, smh
Maybe JD Vance was right after all
I didn’t know authoritarian government is spelled exactly like the picture says but always good to know.
And this country is supposed to be the “cradle of democracy”. Seems like the baby has died.
The security services will always ask for more. Our government should be brave enough to say…thr price of freedom isn’t always free.
I’m honestly struggling to see what the UK standards for nowadays. What makes us better than our peers? What principles do we have?
Feels like anything short of protecting the investments of the rich we don’t really have anything beyond vague lies like tolerance, inclusively etc…when u ask alot of people they don’t feel we are overly tolerant these days.
Just feels like we race to give up our Freedoms time and again and tbh it’s always with good intentions.
But part of being free is risk.
If there’s no risk then you aren’t free…you are in a padded room.with people watching ur every move.
Does this mean passwords aren’t safe in iCloud for uk users?
I encrypt all stuff on my own machine and store there. All intercourse with others is done via ProtonMail, so all outgoing and incoming data is encrypted to my keys. Nowt any government can do about it. It would be simple for Apple to use Proton base to allow encryption.
Oh time to ditch apple
No one cares what you have. The government don’t care what you have. Have any of you ever tried to get a court order to get someone’s data? I imagine not. It’s hard enough in the uk doing it for law enforcement it’s even harder for the government.
It’s for catching wronguns. The only people worried are those with dodgy shit on their devices.
Source: used to try and catch the wrong uns with dodgy data on their phones and saw far too many walk free because of “privacy” the amount of actual credible intelligence you need to get the authority to break into these things is high.
You think the government gives a shit or is going to be spying on you all. They can’t even manage their own legacy databases.
