GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -A new dispensary is coming to Grand Junction. Kai Dispensary aims to create a different environment for customers.
“It’s a different feeling space and we wanted to show that a cannabis dispensary doesn’t have to be a dark hole in the wall. They can be a great place where the community can come and get products that they want and do it in a nice,” said Joey Coleman, Owner of Kai Dispensary.
The shop features tall windows on the entrance, windows on the roof, and art across the walls. “I think walking in you feel a difference right away. We wanted a space that was super welcoming, super warm, artistic. I mean, you see this place, everything from the curved walls on the shelves to the art on the wall to our roof light that brings light in it,” said Coleman.
The store’s grand opening is on March 1, but they are open to customers now. Coleman said at the official opening they will have a food truck, vendors, prizes, and giveaways for the event. He also said it will only be open to people 21 and up.
Voters approved retail pot within city limits in 2021. Kai Dispensary won the right to open in Grand Junction after ten shop owners were selected in a lottery by the city.
