Prince George may only be 11-years-old, however it is quite clear the young royal already has aspirations for how he will spend his time after education.
While Prince William and Princess Kate’s eldest son may be destined for a life as King one day, it is hoped the young prince will be able to pursue other career avenues first, with the second-in-line to the throne already learning some essential skills.
Last year, it was reported that George had already started learning how to fly, enjoying a flying lesson just months ago at an airfield in Berkshire – not far from the family’s Windsor cottage home.
The flight is believed to have lasted for just under an hour, with William, 42, and Kate, 43, watching their eldest son from the ground.
An onlooker at the time told The Sun: “He (George) loved it. It’s the right time to start.”
The onlooker continued: “His parents watched George take flight from the safety of the ground but he flew with an instructor and loved it.”
While it is not clear whether George enjoys flying as a hobby or wants to use it in his career, his experience so far indicates he may be following in Prince William’s footsteps.
This is because the Prince of Wales is a trained helicopter pilot who has flown for RAF Search and Rescue, as well as the East Anglia Air Ambulance – a job he still talks about to this day.
However, while George may follow in his father’s direction, he has also previously expressed an interest in another career which is not so popular among royals.
This is the role of chef, with George having reportedly once told a restaurant owner how he wanted to work in a similar venue when he is older.
A Norfolk landowner told The Daily Mail last year that the Prince and Princess of Wales‘s son visited his restaurant near Sandringham with his mum and some friends.
Desmond MacCarthy, who owns Wiveton Hall Cafe near Blakeney, said that when George was shown the wood-fired pizza oven, the 11-year-old exclaimed: “That’s what I want to do when I grow up!”
