Your move TfL

  1. Very cool, but TFL could only use it for ad space needed to fund the screens.

  2. Seems a bit pointless, not everything needs to be digital.

They’ve now made it so that these are a petri dish for new bacteria, and only one person can use the map at a time

  3. Would have someone’s tag burned in with acid within minutes of being installed

  4. I’d be satisfied if TfL actually managed to run the Rayners Lane branch of the Piccadilly 12 months of the year rather than shutting it down from November to January…

  5. It’s pointless. We all have maps on our phone alongside other navigation maps.

  6. some dickhead would have smashed the screen to bits the first day it was installed if that was on London tubes

  7. I’d call that a gimmick – it doesn’t seem to work massively well, look at the lag. Rail approvals are such and the supply chain so limited that you could probably have an interactive window for not much more money depending on what’s the safety requirements and the technology. It’s probably more “why bother”?

  8. Why though? The underground map we have serves its purpose well. It doesn’t need changing.

  9. tokyo’s displays over the doors are way better. they tell you everything you need in one screen.

  10. ‘Excuse me while I lean over you to see where I’m going’ nah.

  11. What’s wrong with the current maps? Not everything has to be touch screens etc

  12. Covid-popsicle in one hand, screen touched by millions of others in the other hand.

A recipe for the next pandemic.

    No thank you China.

  13. This would be really annoying if you wanted to look at the map but someone else was dicking about, especially if you are new to London

  14. Pointless. Everyone has their own version already in their pocket.

  15. Beijing has (or at least used to when I visited) screens the length of the tunnels showing adverts through the windows of the train as it passes by. This was circa 2012

  16. Would rather not have taxpayer or fare payer money spunked on useless vanity gimmicks.

  17. TfL will be employing people from early 2026 to hang outside windows with paper maps. And that system will even work if the power goes off.

  18. Absolutely brainless idea that probably doesn’t even work. Imagine the filth on that window. Revolting.

  19. This would be covered in poo and graffiti within a week.

  20. Whose being paid to spread CCP propaganda on this sub then

  21. I wouldn’t touch any public screen in London. Imagine the diseases

  22. Instead of talking about the interactive map we should discuss the fact these people aren’t going deaf through constant screeches while breathing in metal dust particles. Still your move tfl.

  23. Better digital signage like the ones on the Elizabeth Line with Tube Status and next station info on all tube lines would more than suffice.

The dot matrix ones are absolutely useless
