  1. I was curious how exactly AI is being used in this context:

    >“The technology was used to assist in 3 brief wide shots on a motorcycle, not involving performance or creative enhancements. This technology is commonplace for making stunt people resemble their actor in films. The VFX facility implemented this specific methodology as a tool for the artists to use for only these 3 shots – these type of VFX stunt face replacement shots have been used for decades.”

So it’s not really like it’s taking over the creative process, just a tool used in a limited capacity for very specific functions. Doesn’t seem like a huge deal to me.

I’m sure there’s other uses of AI in movies that I would find more unappealing/problematic. But just using it to swap a stunt person’s face doesn’t really take away from the work as a whole for me. It’s just another digital tool, just doing the job in a different, more efficient way.

  2. What’s the difference between ai and the computer assisted tools being used for films already?

  3. There are now race requirements for movies for them to qualify for an Oscar, the mediocrity mafia will make everything shit. Why not just let people make the best movies rather than meddling with the requirements to qualify.
