Small correction: our defense minister has said several times Ukranian pilots are *already* being trained on the Gripen.
I wish european F35 buyers, like us in Finland, would think again and select an european fighter jet.
I’d prefer Gripen, but eurofighter or even rafale would now be better option than any US made bird.
This is all we here from Europe. We are considering sending……. Just like Belguim who were going to supply F16s to Ukraine now they are considering it, hopefully some time in 2025. Europe has no balls to support Ukraine.
Anyways don’t rely on the us anymore
Yes, we should start buying only European weapons for Ukraine. And only buy american if big quantities are needed or specific technlology is needed (e.g. long range airdefense)

JAS Gripen might not be the best fighter, but the value-for-money is astronomical.
Uhm, can we buy some too in Denmark? Our insanely expensive F35’s won’t fly if Trump flicks the kill switch. So we can’t even use them to defend Greenland.
It was budgeted for and planned for already during the Biden admin, along with Saab AWACS. Yet it never happened, obviously the americans refuse to give permission.
And if the Biden admin refused, the Trump admin sure as shit will not allow it either.
Europe must make sure the next gen jets are completely free of yank control.
Gripen with Meteor missiles for Ukraine would be awesome
Europe should focus on producing drones. China has factories that can produce MILLIONS of drones PER MONTH!
