    2. Immigration

    3. Abortion.

  20. More than that, Putin views the mere existence of the west as threat. The fact that a people can both have more freedoms, and also be more prosperous without a dictator invalidates his position. It leads the Russian people to the conclusion that they don’t actually need Putin.

    This is why he has to vilify the west and paint this as some kind of existential struggle between civilizations, because it is FOR HIM. Russia can exist, probably even thrive WITHOUT him and his oligarchs. The Russian people pay with their liberty, their wealth, and even their blood for the privilege of being in servitude to him.

    Putin must fight the west, even destroy it if he can, and that is why we must put him in his place.
