Addy Gover onstage in Somerville for an improvised show by the Wyrd comedy troupe.

The depth of talent in our improv scene means that in addition to theater-produced shows such as those from Union Comedy or the Nova Comedy Collective, entertaining work is being done prolifically by fully independent improv collectives. Such is the case for Wyrd Entertainment, which puts up shows at Arts at the Armory on the first Friday of every month. In March, it’s got a doubleheader that shows the duality of life in some wildly fun ways. First, in Wyrd’s “Silly Love Songs,” you can fulfill your dream of living inside a musical as the show’s performers make up songs from your suggestions. At 9 p.m. you can look in on “New Faces in Hell,” in which a cast of characters arrive in the underworld to receive punishment for their sins. It is profoundly rewarding to watch skilled improvisers excel at their craft, and the versatility of these two shows in one night promise to display it.

Wyrd Comedy Doubleheader: “Silly Love Songs” at 7:30 ($15) and “New Faces in Hell” at 9 p.m.  (price to be announced) at Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave., Spring Hill, Somerville.
