In my experience, they completely stopped checking people at the self checkouts. Probably figured out that letting people steal is cheaper than the extra employee.
in Coop its easy: Spend 100+ CHF, dont have a “Supercard” – Check!
I only found a way to absolutwly definitely trigger a control, scanning 2-3 items and removing them again and adding them again so far has always worked for triggering a check.
People getting pulled to the side when using self checkout and wondering about it instead stopping using self check outs are a hopeless case…
I always say please and thank you to chatgpt and so far I have only been checked once at self check out.
I didn’t know people around here were wondering – I definitely was. I have been checked at my regular coop many times in the last few months. Super annoying.
If they check you they should at least give a coupon for the time you lost. And there should be a discount since you don’t use the standard cashier.
The scanners just have to become better. Whenever the machine makes an error, the CUSTOMER is being checked?
The longer people insist on not using self check out, the longer they’ll have to keep human check outs available.
lol I’ve never been checked and I’ve been using the self-checkout nonstop for over 7 years. I don’t think I’ve even observed someone being checked
