Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are constantly compared to their UK-based counterparts — Prince William and Princess Kate — but rarely do the Sussexes come out on top, but this time they are with a former associate of Princess Diana’s singing their praises.

Ian Pelham Turner was a commissioned royal photographer back in the day and worked with Princess Diana on a number of occasions, including taking Prince William’s Christmas photos as a baby.

Fastforward to current day, Pelham Turner believes Harry and Meghan are “much more down to earth” than William and Kate, who have to “try with the public,” which makes it feel disingenuous.

Pelham Turner told Daily Express US: “With William and Kate, they try to do it, their PR team is focused on it continuously, with all that’s going on. But to me sometimes, it almost feels contrived, it’s photo opportunities and the different things that they are doing, you know.”

He added: “I just think Harry and Meghan are much more down to earth.”

We asked Pelham Turner what it would take to get Harry and Meghan back to the UK with his answer being quite surprising.

He said: “I think what’s necessary is Charles to rule over William, rather than the other way around.”

When we first got on Zoom with Pelham Turner he said, “I tell it like it is,” and he didn’t overpromise.
