Was his defence, “It wasn’t supposed to” or “I don’t care”?
Basic UC rate for over 25’s is £324 a month.
Energy bills are expected to reach £3000 pa after Octobers increase.
That’s £250 a month.
How is someone expected to manage on £74 a month? The Govt say they understand it’s difficult.
This isn’t ‘difficult’, it’s impossible.
I can’t tell if he is being braindead or purposely malicious, it’s genuinely difficult to tell.
A multi millionaire, married to a Billionaire heiress.
“Yo….cough! …..We are all in this together.”
Can you stop being poor? Like that would help a lot cheers
‘What did you expect me to do’, he said, ‘I’m a massive fucking arsehole and I hate, and I mean really, really hate, poor people. Hopefully loads of them will die now I can stop pretending to even think about them. Frankly it’s your surprise that annoys me the most’.
That’s because his intent isn’t to help the poorest. Obviously.
Long story short, if you voted tory you shouldn’t be surprised when they fuck you over. Unless of course, you’re rich enough to not be affected by this.
Vote tory – get fucked.
Still got the money to send to Israel, money and weapons to Ukraine but none for the people that keep this country off of it’s knees. Cunt.
Because this is a budget from a man who is so unbelievably rich, I doubt he knows at any point just how much money he actually has. Unlike most of the UK who can tell you down to the penny.
Why would the Tories help the poorest of people. The Tories hate poor people, that’s why they make them poorer . Where there’s muck there’s money, that’s there motto for poor people. Tories only help the well off people.
See, the mistake you people are making is that you assume the objective was to help the poorest.
Rishi Sunak is a tory. Worse, he is a priviliged, wealthy tory. He does not give one single solitary shit about the poor.
It fails to help anyone. The poor, the working class Poor or even middle class. This rise in cost of living will decimate not only poor families finances but middle class ones too.
It’s going to be a huge shock, and these measures are a joke.
Don’t be too complacent check your finances, just because your comfortable right now does not mean these price hikes will not hurt you drastically.
Fuck Rossi.
He is someone that can’t imagine that the poor are really that poor, and has disdain for people that are, and thinks it’s their own fault they’re that poor and it’s through poor choices and poor money management that they’re that poor. Just not in the real world.
I hope suicide rates don’t go up. Mental Health services are terrible- let alone a wave of crisis situations with folk. Sadly men and more at risk as use more lethal means- jumping/hanging.
Been there myself and brought back- Bipolar.
I have limited watching news as frankly worries me and have little control if indeed any. Scottish councils elections soon- no idea who shall be voting for. Just feels pointless.
We’re fucked. Man is the tightest fucking chancellor in history. Useless fucking party
Surprise sur-fucking-prise, tory chancellor Rishi Sunak targets tory voters and not those most desperately in need.
An absolute arsehole of the highest fucking order. And then some.
If you all stopped buying your Starbucks coffee and avocado toast you could afford petrol for your 15 year old Fiesta.
(Sarcasm)
That smirk says it all.
I can’t believe that people actually expected anything else from a bunch of self-serving ****ers. How much of a pay raise did they give themselves?!
They are destroying the UK more than Labour ever did, and that’s just within the last 2 years. Wow.
Like it is true statement doesn’t help at all!!! Stop defending gathering bulshit you created
If you think this man give one single fuck about anything other than his own money then you are deluded.
What, no Cape today Sunak?
The merest whiff of actual work to do, and suddenly it’s ‘i can’t fix everything’.
France has taken measures, so why can’t you?
Pretty sure a 5p discount when the price has gone up 20p in the last month would be false advertising in literally any other scenario
Politicians should be payed the same amount as minimum wage. See how quick changes start being made
Well I’m sure not paying VAT on the £1000s it would cost to install solar panels on my rented property will make a massive difference to me personally. Thanks Rishi!
I will never understand how they managed to convince the general public that they are the “Safe pair of hands” for the economy, when a little digging reveals that to be categorically not true.
is he standing in front of a green screen? the lighting and perspective looks way off
All I heard was the starting gun for the next general election.
1% off income tax in 2024 is completly irrelevent for a spring statement. That is clearly a gift to the affluent tory voters and will do nothing to help the poorest in society, or fix the NHS
Very generous of him to give a miserly five pence rebate on fuel duty seeing as the stations put up the prices 2p the day before.
As a pensioner we are particularly hard hit by the suspension of the triple lock which considering the cost of living crisis is particularly hard.
Pay in all your life and get bugger all in return.
There is a cultural phenomenon in the west.
* It is widely considered that someone who is successful is virtuous and it’s aspirational to be successful
* Success is most commonly casually measured by wealth over basically all other ‘metric’
* Therefore, to be wealthy is to be virtuous
Those that are wealthy believe themselves to be virtuous and deserving of that wealth, and they believe that those that are not wealthy are not virtuous and thus deserve their poverty.
Those that are struggling believe in their aspirational goals of being wealthy, thus they do not feel hatred towards those they perceive as being ‘above them’ because they hope to one day achieve that same success; they are virtuous-to-be. By that same thinking, they know they are ‘working hard’, so anyone who is *worse* off than they are must truly be lacking in virtue and thus must *surely* be deserving.
This is why we get Tory governments. Because we measure success by wealth and everyone wants to be ‘successful’, and the reason Tory governments show such little compassion towards those in need is because they genuinely believe that those in need are deserving of their poverty.
This is just a hypothesis but I really think it’s true. It’s not a ‘catch all’ and I certainly don’t subscribe to this but I think a lot of people do. People generally speaking do not look at a super yacht or a £150,000 watch and think ‘that is just gross’, they think ‘wow, good for them, they must have worked hard to get it, so they obviously deserve it, I hope I can one day achieve that same wealth’. People’s aspirational goals aren’t typically ‘be happy’ and are more frequently ‘acquire material possessions’. Again, super generalising here.
I feel like the tories are going on a suicide run. So many things are happening which paint them as incompetent fuckers, do they really expect people to still vote for them? They probably will anyway.
Lets face it he blew his load during lockdown ‘Everybody can have 10 milion pounds and you can all pay it back when were back to normal’ yea right, my mate didn’t work during lockdown and got twice as much money for the governemnt tax free than he would’ve earned before tax working, absolute shambles now he doesn’t have a pot to piss in ahead of a war that’s about to send the economy into oblivion, well done prick
These people just don’t understand that poor people have NO options at all, its an alien concept. They have no concept of looking at your wallet and seeing nothing, looking at your bank and seeing its empty, looking at your cupboards and seeing them bare. They think you can just not have the ‘latest thing’ or forgo some social event and it will be OK.
They themselves are never in that position, they always have money, or a mate, or family, or something so that they dont starve, or freeze or end up on the streets. Most never have to forgo anything, ever.
