AMERICANS could get their hands on up to $5,000 as part of a data breach settlement.
Eligible claimants are in luck as they only need one document to get the money but they will need to keep an important date in mind to make sure they get the cash.

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker and Reliable Networks suffered a data breach in 2023.
The accounting and consulting firm was accused of not taking reasonable cybersecurity measures to prevent the hack, according to Top Class Actions.
An unauthorized third party was reportedly able to access customers’ private information.
The lawsuit argued this breach could have put people at risk of fraud or becoming victims of identity crime.
Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker and Reliable Networks have not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to set aside $7.25million to settle these claims.
ELIGIBILITY
This data breach was discovered on September 14, 2023.
Customers whose data was potentially breached during this leak could be eligible to claim.
Individuals who received a notification from Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker and Reliable Networks that their information could have been compromised are also eligible.
PAYMENTS
Class members can claim up to $5,000 worth of documented losses linked to this data breach.
These could include payments for unreimbursed expenses such as fraud or losses through identity theft.
Members must also submit proof of any financial losses, which could include credit reports or bank statements.
Eligible people who did not experience any out-of-pocket losses will also be able to claim some cash.
These class members will get a $100 payment.
This flat payment could increase or decrease depending on how many people sign up.
All eligible claimants will also get three years of credit monitoring services.
DEADLINES
There are three important dates people need to know to get their slice of the settlement pot.
People have until May 7 for exclusions or objections to this settlement.
May 22 is the final day customers can submit a valid claim form to ensure they get some money.
The final approval hearing for this case has been scheduled for June 6.
