Is it just a thing that it's kept at half mast due to the demographic of lawn bowls or did I miss a memo on a significant figures death?

  1. Same at the one down the road here. I just assumed they were too busy to fix it. However, maybe there’s just a lot of old boys passing on this time of year.

  2. Was it maybe lowered when a member died and they will keep it down until the funeral? That could be a gap of several weeks in some cases.

  3. Given the age of a lot of members, it could that another member died before they put the flag back up (or you noticed)?

  4. This flag has never been higher at this club. My theory being that there’s so many elderly members that they just keep it half mast full time, just in case

  5. It’ll go full mast when the queen comes back as a zombie and not a second before

  6. They’ve held an extraordinary general meeting to vote on the expulsion of Pete MacCutcheon.

    Unanimous.

  7. Bowling clubs are magic for cheap bevvy. Maybe that explains the high fatalities.

  8. One of the greatest bowlers of his generation, RIP Benny Harvey, gone but not forgotten.
