I suspect they are low in their estimate by an order of magnitude. Russia treats soldiers like bullets – just waste a bunch of them and every now and then one hits the target and we can always get more.
And 1 billion Ukrainians according to trump.

This will be the ones with obituaries. There are around 4x as many who are in mass graves or meat cubes.
Plus all the ones listed as MIA, they’re not turning up any time in the future.
Way more than that have been killed. If you take all the destroyed vehicles (armoured and unarmoured, and aircraft, and naval vessels, roughly 90000) and take the minimum number of soldiers (1) killed in each, you get 90000. In reality, upwards to an average of four are killed in each of these vehicles, so 360,000. And this number does not include those killed in the trenches, on open fields, in bunkers, and buildings.
The amount of unclaimed bodies just laying around the countryside from Russia. Ukraine should write Russia an itemized receipt after the war for the disposal of however many corpses Putin decides to leave laying around in his little real life D&D game and present it to whoever is in charge afterwards.
Dead body cleanup is gonna be expensive. Then there is the matter of all the destroyed equipment…

I’ve probably seen over a thousand Russians die while I’m taking a shit.
