T&Cs apply. Beds not single occupancy and may be shared with other tenants.
We’re in a serious housing ponzi
This is a scam for students who don’t know better, and not indicative of actual going rates.
£355pw to share a room with one or two other people, not even less if it’s two people. Not even your own wardrobe or nightstand. Absolutely insane and should be illegal if it isn’t already, but sadly, I’m sure there are students who would go for this.
Things like this make me appreciate my £1300 studio even more!
Sounds like someone has run up large arrears and been turfed out or done a bunk,
Now this ‘enterprise’ is a way to replace some of that lost revenue in the interim before the start of term and a new student rental year
It’s Aldgate and it’s probably no background check e.g. international students who will not rent for a long period. A hotel in that location is not less than £100 per night. This a hotel/Airbnb/hostel hybrid.
Brother I pay 1800 for a 1 bed in canary wharf this is obviously a scam
Hahaha
I wonder what if say only one person signs up is he alone lol or until 3 people are found nobody moves in?
Yikes
So it’s essentially a hostel?
I’ve seen similar for a friend who was living in Sydney, it was as above the board as it gets but the alternative for them was noisy backpacker hostels. Experience of anything like that in London is that it’s most probably sketchy!
Everyone there was either a student or on a working holiday visa so they all had similar lifestyles and it was convenient for a year or so.
Just moved out of London purely because of the state of the rental market. My boyfriend and I went from a 2 bed flat for £1550 (in Morden) to 1 ROOM in a shared house in New Malden (1350). Not even anywhere near close to the centre but completely unaffordable for us.
crazy, Been living all over the place and starting to think the right to buy of council properties was the worst thing to happen.
This makes me grateful for the rent we pay in South Croydon, crazy how there isn’t much of a difference in price for 3 beds in a room compared to me renting a 3 bedroom house
Looks like that unlicensed hostel that burnt down with 18 beds in a 2 bedroom ex council flat
This is horrible.
We needed money for sudden medical expenses and decided to let our spare room to a lodger. Having just come off renting we wanted to be cheap and nice as possible.
We decided on £600 per month for a huge double room, furnished, all bills inc.
Had some decent folks stay but then had a string of bad experiences with people stealing from us and breaking/mistreating our home and police saying they can’t do anything.
So we stopped.
I like to keep think there are many people like us who want to rent out a spare room for genuinely cheap amount but the messed up laws in this country prevents that from happening and give rise to scavengers like these.
Disgusting
Time and time again I hear political parties go on about the rights of homeowners but never renters and their dignity.
It’s just an expensive Doss house.
That weekly rent is more than my monthly mortgage.
So happy not in London anymore. I miss many things about the city but housing is definitely not one of them.
