Persistent cough may be tuberculosis not Covid, doctor warns

  1. Over three last year I knew 3 people in Swansea who have had latent TB and 1 active case.

    The amount of people being tested is minimal, very few close contacts of the active case were tested. All the ones that did test had latent TB.

    The NHS treatment for the latent cases was very poor with individuals having to chase again and again to get both courses of treatment. No mention of them side effects of the drugs either and this put more pressure on their GPs to deal with these queries (Testing, advice and medication was not undertaken by the GPs but a central team dealing with it).

    What’s next? the black plague? Whooping cough? Commitement?
