The sunniest weather of the weekend is expected on Sunday, while Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with the sun making only occasional appearances. There will be some snow in Vidzeme, but in Kurzeme there will be light rain and a chance of thaw. The minimum air temperature will be -5 C to 0 C at night, down to -8 C in the east, and 0 C to +3 C during the day, down to -2 C in the east.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, with no precipitation expected, with temperatures at night -5 C to 0 C, in the east up to -9 C, and during the day +1 to +5 C, in the east up to -1 C.

Temperatures will continue to rise slowly next week, reaching above 5 degrees in many places in the second half of the week. Average daily temperatures will gradually rise above 0 degrees from the west of Latvia, marking the start of meteorological spring.

The arrival of meteorological spring does not mean that frost and snow will not return. Long-term forecasts suggest that March temperatures will be mostly above the climatic norm, which means that temperatures will be mostly above freezing, but this does not exclude a temporary onset of colder weather with frost and snow.
