  5. The thing is, AfD increased their elected share, Pierre Pollievre will get elected in Canada, and everywhere is electing right and far right leadership. Russia and Trump KNOW they’ll get a stooge to replace him the instant Zelenskyy steps down. It’s too easy for them to push propaganda that’s blatantly false, but people take like gospel. So he’ll sign a deal that guarantees protections, and the next guy will sign a deal that ties Ukraine’s fate to Russia or some utter bullshit. The world isn’t in a good place. Our only hope is tied to France and the UK.

    The only thing Putin wants is to expand Russia.

  9. I don’t doubt it, I’m sure he’s eager to leave, but isn’t willing to screw Ukraine over to do it. Doing an election while a foreign force is literally mid-invasion into your country, one that extensively meddles in foreign elections would be ridiculous and its standard (and already built into their laws) to delay until you can safely conduct an election in your country

    NATO membership is obviously the surest thing that could ensure that safety right now

    For NATO membership it might well be worth it. But only a) They are a full member without “backsies” by day x, and b) he resign after day x. No “if you resign, Ukraine may join NATO *pinky promise, fingers crossed*

  38. This guy clearly doesn’t want to have this heavy responsibility and burden. He cares about his people and is trusted as a leader by them so he stays (plus Ukraines laws essentially force him to stay during the war).

    He deserves far more respect than what is continually thrown at him by politicians and feeble men.
