  1. Dude, the domain is fi-maksu.icu, what do you think will happen? Why people even need to ask is something I don’t understand.

    Edit: To be clear, don’t click links, do not log in anywhere, do not send any products before the money is in your bank account. Don’t trust any screenshots. Everything like this is a scam.

  2. It’s clearly scam, basic stuff.

    It’s a bogus web page and a screenshot (made-up) which is made up so that it looks like it’s from someones e-banking application or site to make it look like it’s more legitimate.

    Obviously you can not receive payments in any other way thant he one **you** have agreed to beforehand and agreed on with the buyer.

    It will probably end up onto a phishing site which will get your e-banking details or similar.

  3. For the future; always go to the site in question via other means to check its legitimacy. In this case, Posti official site via google/browser for example.

    Easy phishing tell tales are;
    1. Urgency in the message (time or other pressure)
    2. Weird sites in the message
    3. Typos and other weird formations.

  4. For sums worth more than 100€ a public meet-up is best. This way they can check the product & you can check the payment before selling the item.

  5. If you have to ask, the answer is yes. This is a really obvious scam.

    Do nothing, or block and report the user if possible.

  6. A good thing to remember is that official Finnish URLs always end in .fi Which is a domain you can only get with approval from Finnish authorities, namely the DVV.

    So a website that is approved by DVV will look something like: “https://www.posti.fi/” Of course there may be more text after the “.fi/” but the point is, that if the link ends in anything but “.fi/” (.com, -fi.com, .net, etc) then it’s not a legitimate Finnish website and most likely leads to a scam.

  7. Your question was already answered, but personally im just wondering what are they spending all this money on Telegram Premium

  8. Probably a scam.
    If buying from private individual always meet either pick up or meeting in other places and then, after checking item, mobile pay or cash…
    I would better purchase from internet store and overpay a bit rather than risk on losing on the great deal…

  9. Scam. No such thing as posti checking payments between individuals

  10. Scam, even without reading it or understanding Finnish. They all use the same style/format and a dodgy link where they will ask for your card number. Stay away and report it if possible

  11. Just looking at the url should give you a hint. 99% of scams can be detected by looking at the website . You can also always try to type in false information if you suspect a scam. Authentic websites will verify payment from payment service provider and refuse if information is fake while scam sites usually accept any information (sometimes appropriate card identification number, the first 4 digits, may need to be correct). Also in my experience Finnish companies never request payments via text messages.

  12. Scam.

    Finland doesn’t use dots (.), they use commas (,).

    Wrong -> 10.10€
    Right -> 10,10€

  13. Take a lot of care, my dude. Facebook marketplace is full of scammers. Better of all local meetings or at least transactions on their name to local bank

  14. the red flags I immediately notice is the weird language (who in their right mind would use ’varat’ instead of ’raha’ when talking about money), the long message with odd links and for me the biggest red flag is the ’kuriiripalvelu’. Every scam-bot always talks about some kuriiripalvelu instead of postitus for some reason!

  15. Haha “fi-maksu.icu” camoon they dont even try to register legit looking domains

  16. For the future: Finnish institutions and business’ use .fi domain. If the .whatever is anything except “fi” before the first /, it’s more than likely a scam. Also never trust a screenshot of anyone saying they’ve paid, wait until you see the money. Thirdly, in Finland, the seller deals with the postage and such, and you add that to the cost the buyer is paying, unless you want to include the postage in the whole price as is.

    Glad you asked help! Anyone not from around here should always check, because losing the money and/or item is just a annoying hassle.

  17. Obviously red flag is that site, but also 400 eur for xm4? Those start from 200 eur brand new, have some common sense lol

  18. Dude, no matter where you live, never answer to those types of texts or click the links. Only if you’re expecting a package, Posti may send you a code, but that’s it.

  19. Kahjuks ma ei usu sind. Aga soomlased ikka andsid sinule infot.
