    Trump called him “a man of incredible love and passion for our Country” in a post on his Truth Social website announcing the selection, which comes days after far-right conspiracy theorist Kash Patel was confirmed as FBI director.

    If a country can’t turn out a majority of its voters to vote against a convicted criminal promising to rule as a dictator then that country is doomed.

  19. One of the few things that keeps my sanity and stops me from worrying too excessively about Trump as president is that he constantly chooses all of the wrong people—not just wrong for us assholes along for the ride, but he chooses the complete wrong people to help him achieve his own goals.

    He’s excellent at campaigning and maintaining the loyalty of his cult, but his continuous selection of people who aren’t capable of gettng his dirty work done is an ongoing, baffling strategic misstep that he keeps making over and over again. Just like choosing The Mooch as a Comms Director in his first term. 40 years as a public figure, and the best person he had available to him as his whole administration’s mouthpiece was a guy that didn’t know anything said to a journalist is on the record unless stated otherwise. There are lot of Betsy DeVos type picks that are just “I’m going to choose the worst person because I don’t want their department to succeed anyway,” but he’s so strategically inept at putting in people who would actually be effective at getting his bidding done.
