1. WTF? literally all of the country south of the city? whats next? annexing the provinces to “protect” the Druze inhabitants there? Of course this new territory will need its own buffer zone, so now there wont be any military forces south of Aleppo… at this rate they will take istambul by the end of the century

   this is a naked power grab against a new regime that has done nothing to warrant it

   After getting Druze from Daraa and Suwayda, their focus probably gonna shift to Lebanon, before returning towards Damascus

7. These opportunist pricks keep grabbing more land for themselves. Who said that imperialism was dead? Israel is very much keeping that word alive. And so is Russia.

8. Syria is pretty wide so where exactly is “south of Damascus? Some areas south of Damascus are nowhere near Israel

   Syria and Israel should agree to a peace deal, it’s in both of their interest. Otherwise technically both countries are still at war, and so any build up of Syrian troops is a provocation. Of course, the opposite is also true, and if Israel has a right to defend itself against Syrian aggression, Syria absolutely has the right to defend itself against Israeli aggression.

   Everybody wants to negotiate from the strongest position they can, and so Israel will push the boat as far out as they can while Syria is weakened.

   I don’t know what private negotiations are but Israel can’t complain about being seen as an aggressor when Netanyahu’s government is like all stick and 0 carrot.
