  1. Yes, even I saw this one coming. Keep failing to deliver and the donors big and small will eventually fail to deliver.

  2. > A second donor was equally as pointed. “They want us to spend money and for what? For no message, no organization, no forward thinking,” the donor said. “The thing that’s clear to a lot of us is that the party never really learned its lesson in 2016. They worked off the same playbook and the same ineffective strategies and to what end?”

    Pretty much sums it up.

  3. Well, if there were ever a time to push campaign finance reform within the Democratic Party, it seems like we’re here.

  4. we are fighting a cultural movement of christian fascism in the us and the dem leadership said recently ‘presidents come and go but god is on the throne’.

    the democratic party is dead.

at this point i expect it’s going to be a difficult decade at least before a real left and honest resistance emerges.

  5. Seen this coming from a mile away. but the Democratic Party, especially the old guard have been stuck in their old ways. Pelosi, Schumer, Jeffries need to step aside and let the younger generation of elected democrats step into these roles. People are getting fed up, maybe cutting off the flow of cash can light a fire under their asses but that’s me being optimistic.

  6. Snubbing AOC for a key leadership role was stupid. That just told donors that it’s more of the same. Nothing learned.

  7. The Democrats desperately need new leadership. The Squad and Bernie are the only ones who seem to be doing anything, and the current leadership seems to do everything in their power to shut them down. They have failed us all.

  8. Stopping the flow of money is the only way they’re going to be forced to change. I’m tired of seeing emails saying that Trump has destroyed another part of government, please give us money to fight back.

  9. The lack of bite or pushback is beyond absurd…hope has disintegrated into a void. Globally, everyone’s wondering what’s actually going on.

  10. I keep getting donation texts after a few months of dead silence- they need to read the room we have bills to pay, trying to keep our housing and feed our families

  11. When Biden was picked as the frontrunner in 2020, I remember the shock I felt. There were so many better candidates, but that was the point where I knew that those in charge lost their way.

  12. This will unironically spark more of a reaction from democrat politicians than anything else. There will 10000% be a Jefferies or Pelosi or Schumer who will whinge and bitch about how they can’t do anything without money — while pledging to do nothing.

  13. Dems have to start from the ground up. Start developing effective policies and leaders at the state and local level. Get some states under Democrat control to accomplish some big things and build off of that. Words aren’t enough anymore.

  14. AOC and Crockett are demonstrating they have what it takes to be the leaders of the party and resistance movement, but the old senile house Dems refused to put either in an actual leadership position. So the Dems aren’t getting anything from me donation wise.

Meanwhile you’ve got Chuck penguin waddling over to the GOP every two seconds saying we have to work together and Hakeem Jeffries doing absolutely jack shit as house minority leader.

  15. “If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use is the rule?” – Anton Chigure

  16. Don’t send them a dime. Unsubscribe from every email and hit STOP on every text. If the email unsubscribe gives you a chance to comment – keep a blurb in your phone to copy paste. Mine is “You won’t see any more $ from me until the old guard leadership that maintains the status quo is replaced”

  17. We want new leadership. Schumer, Jeffries gotta go. Then I’ll start sending $$$ again.

  18. I’m only donating to Bernie, AOC, Jasmine and JB. No more Act Blue or other Democrat organizations until they formalize their stance on universal healthcare and taxing the wealthy.

  19. Fuck pelosi and Schumer. They won’t give up their power to the younger generation.

  20. Yes. There is a lack of sophistication in the alarmist machine creating many of the wacky texts and emails, too. No, your bold, red comic sans isn’t making me reach for my wallet.

TELL US WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO AND SAY, THEN DO THAT.

    Then the money will flow.

  21. I will never donate to a Democrat again in my entire life until I see a new deal type democrat. We are never reversing all this damage without radical change in the Democrats, or a Labor party emerging.

  22. I wish I had the Democratic representation that the Republican Party is so worried about but sadly that’s not the case. The DNC leadership is feckless and spineless and completely incapable of enacting the change that is required. I don’t understand how you lose to Trump twice under any circumstances really. 🤷‍♂️

  23. They absolutely need to get new people and new ideas into their fundraising texts and emails. And maybe don’t ONLY contact me to ask for money? They have this giant list of contact info that could be used to communicate directly to the base in this time of idiocracy – give people real info, tell them how they can strengthen the party in non monetary ways. When the other side has abandoned all political norms, they kinda have to do the same.

  24. Saw Carvilles prediction and message that because the Republicans are about to implode the Democrats should do nothing and I thought what a load of horseshit.

I do agree that they’re policies are going to turn non maga Trump voters against him and the Republicans, but not until we’re in a deep recession and enough damage has been done that’ll a Democrat take over of congress will be impotent.

The Democrats need to be at the forefront not just in messaging but in filing lawsuits and publicly fighting Trump and Leon every step of the way. It might be futile, but WTF good are they if they don’t at least try?

  25. We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas.

  26. It’s not like it was a ton, but I cutoff my contributions in general. But then, AOC has been so vicious and at the front, I made probably my largest donation ever to her. She is actively trying to make things happen and I appreciate her. I might recommend others consider doing the same.

  27. I think it’s time for a new party that brings together working and middle class people from both sides of the aisle. The old parties are tainted. The Republican Party has become the Nazi party, and the Democrats have become the geriatric party. After Lu*gi did his deed, we saw remarkable consensus in sentiment from working and middle class people from left and right, and while the act was not universally condoned, the level of understanding of why it happened speaks to an untapped unity among the masses. It’s time for the Representative Party

  28. Other than Bernie, AOC, and JB Pritzker, I’ve heard fuckall from Democrat politicians about *anything* that’s going on right now. At this point, I feel like they’re complicit.

  29. I literally hear crickets after the election until 2 days ago when the DNC texted me “hey buy some Black History Month merch!”

I have enough t-shirts, thanks. My money is going to organizations that actually fight for democracy.

  30. New party now. The democrats are useless “but that just gives everything to the GOP!!!” Bro they already have everything.

  31. If they give the party leader position to AOC, I’ll start donating again.

  32. Good. Jeffries was on cnn yesterday morning with the same hands off talking points that got us into this mess. Trying to pivot to gop having the “real” problems and failing to outright condemn what mayor Eric Adams is doing.

Just because someone else has their shit more fucked up doesn’t mean you can ignore your own disaster.

Sit down and let Jasmine Crockett, AOC, and Bernie lead. Get Pete back in the game and on Fox News too.

And for the love of god someone under 40 needs to be in charge of social media accounts.

  33. My first donation to a political campaign was made last year after Kamala announced her candidacy. It will likely be my last unless The DNC uproots the neo-liberal establishment and installs some fresh, *progressive* leadership. That’s not likely to happen any time soon, so they can kick rocks.

I will continue voting in every election until I no longer have the opportunity, but I am no longer donating my time and money to an organization that continues to suppress its core voterbase to prop up the careers of addled, geriatric conservatives masquerading as leftists.

  34. Republicans have shock value content. Which is highly viewed. Many who identify with MAGA were reposting false information, AI, Russian propaganda (which base MAGA doesn’t believe is real). Democrats have posted factual think pieces and actual evidence. We can blame the Democratic Party for this loss all we want but there is simply a divide in this country. Covid happened and without second thought, voters were price gouged and angry. Biden inherited a fucking shit storm. Obama created and made funding for events like Covid which were dismantled after Trump was in office. Covid changed the game. Facebook and social media alike were the new source of information and the republicans won it. Many states are gerrymandered like Ohio, there is almost no reason to run in Ohio as a democrat bc the chances are fucking high of you losing to a Republican with a district of 6 people. I understand the need for change within the party and I agree with many of you here but let’s not take away the evil, hateful, ignorance of the American people. Look what they won on. They’re doing a nazi salute at conferences for Christ sake. They’re firing 40 year military members to shake down whole branches to put in place like thinkers. If this last election wasn’t secure, how can I trust the next? There will be a battle between Christian nationalism (theocracy) and a technocratic government in the future. MAGA will use religion as a vessel. Project 2025 has a chart on their web page of the installments of their goals in government. It sits at 33%. I’m not sure what the breaking point is for the average MAGA voter to say “I’m not sure about this”. Meanwhile, we need to uplift medias touch and other democratic podcast and news organizations.
