We are in the day where I wish there was a whitelisting option for phones, auto reject any incoming communication from a non-whitelisted number. This would also protect the more vulnerable, digitally inept layer of society.
Yeah, my pixel phone has started to recognize these type of messages as spam and I never get a notification anymore. ah, no more scams
I received one yesterday in Dutch too.
I live in the French part and the url is so weird it was almost funny.
How ever, we can ask ourselves one thing, did « itsme » got compromised of some data ?
My QR code never got scanned but I’m indeed registered on itsme since 2-3 months ago.
I wonder why there are soo many scammers in Belgium ? It seems almost a daily issue for almost everyone that I know. Are there any statistics on this ?
I lived for a while in NL and it wasn’t this bad. 1 per month tops.
I was literally this close to falling for that one last weekend. I already typed my card number, but didn’t know my client number and expiration date by heart. So I thought ah I’ll do it later, but then all of a sudden i was like wait…oh shit let’s gtfo. I’m still checking my accounts multiple times a day since to be sure I’m not losing thousands
my mom fell for this one, and they tried to withdraw 1800€. fortunately she called card stop immediately after entering her informations because she had the lightbulb moment.
Withdrawal didn’t go through and fortunately the money was returned in her account.
I love how they put ‘pay’ in the URL. It almost seems like these people don’t want to make any money with their scams.
I am a proponent of leaving the liberty of taking your own decisions.
If grandma is too stupid, the a Nigerian prince can profit. Its wealth redistribution as it should be.
If you leave your wallet in the middle of the street, same thing.
And no this is not the same as a girl with a short skirt.
Domein werkt al niet meer en redirect naar [google.nl](https://google.nl)
My (retired) mum has been getting several of these per day lately.
These scams prey on the elderly and technologically illiterate. Please tell your parents and older family members to beware.
It’s gotten so bad I ignored a legitimate e-mail about my federal taxes for a week.
