  1. It’s good he’s doing this. I would seize assets and use the value to fund Ukraine if it were me. I’d also seize them for reparations.  There’s plenty of Russian money in London.

  2. Good stuff. Ukraine deserves this help and more. Hopefully a reasonable peace deal can be established in Ukraine’s favour.

  3. Starmer really isn’t fucking about when it comes to Russia is he?

Say what you like about him but he’s making us relevant again on the world stage with this stuff, pushing hard against Russian aggression, diplomatically navigating the Trumpian world we find ourselves in. Its strange in this post-brexit world to see this happening in the best way.

  4. I feel Starmer and Macron are going to have one final crack at Trump in their upcoming first face to face meetings since Trump taking office. If (It likely will) it fails to budge Trump to a more reasonable and workable position I’d guess The UK and France will get to work lobbying as many other European nations to form a joint coalition to put forward a peacekeeping force for Ukraine. Then the cards will have to play out on if Putin eventually accepts Ukraine letting go of it’s lost land in exchange for the War ending and European peacekeepers being deployed. Or if Putin rejects and Europe go in at least to the Western part of the country and at least give a shield covering up to Kyiv and potentially freeing up Ukrainian logistics and any rear assets.

The worst case I see right now is Ukraine has to continue to fight with fewer resources but still being supported by Europe financially both Military and Civil aid.

  5. Wouldn’t it be ironic if Trump brings the UK and other European countries much closer together.

  6. I must say he is leading the country really well now. Nice one!

  7. The strategy for the past 3 years hasn’t helped Ukraine defeat Russia, so what’s another 3 years of the same thing!

  8. It’s good that he’s trailblazing on this issue, a lot of European countries are hesitant to make the first move, but will do so once the precedent has been set.

  9. > U.K. is ready to provide Ukraine with 4.5 billion pounds ($5.7 billion) in military aid in 2025

Our military is already pretty much fucked, why not give away the last remaining scraps.

  10. With the US basically stretching out its butt to Putin’s limp dick, the only choice Europe has to be taken seriously in military defencd is to stand by their commitment to supporting Ukraine and making it abundantly clear that their involvement means they and naturally Ukraine itself must be respected as factions in any sort of peace negotiation.

I really hate arms deals and I really hate war, but Trump and Putin love to abuse allies and foes alike. We need to refuse to be trodden on.

  11. I have been highly critical of Starmer for some of his actions, rightly or wrongly, but can firmly get behind him for this. You can tell he’s accomplished at foreign relations

  12. If only King Charles would host a state event for a Commenwealth country then palm Princess Anne on Trump

  13. I heard starmer can be kinda ruthless if he needs to be.
He might be the strong man the world needs right now who knows.

  14. Good.

If the USA is going to withdraw from the world stage, then it’s time for us to step back up again.

The UK is one of the world’s oldest democracies, we need to demonstrate what that means and support the right of other people to live freely without fear of invasion by some cunt living next door.

  15. Peacekeepers? We should be deploying to enforce Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders, and destroying any Russian forces inside Ukraine. I know the whole deterrent thing, but with US support slowing we need to be decisive.

  16. I’m liking the attitude and response to all of this US nonsense from Starmer. I don’t like him at all but fair play……keep going!

  17. Just enforce a total Ruzzian embargo with nothing in or out including trade, people and finance…and send ALL the frozen Ruzzian assets to Ukraine.

All of them, so the €300 billion in the EU and the $600 billion in the US, send the whole lot as Ukraine will need every last cent to not only finally put Ruzzia down but to cleanse their land of the Ruzzian filth, rebuild and somehow heal from the past 10 years of misery.

  18. I despise Starmer with every cell in my body but to his credit well done for sticking firm on Ukraine.

  19. The AFU have always had more soldiers in the SMO zone. What are a few thousand peacekeepers going to make a difference that 700k AFU didn’t? I mean, most of them are sadly now dead or wounded, so why would British boots on the ground have any effect at all

  20. if only he shown this same conviction and backbone against Israel, sigh

I respect the fact he’s finally grown a pair of balls about something, but let’s be honest, he’s now tying UK funds and British soldiers to the side that will inevitably lose this war

  21. We really are in the first half hour of Threads aren’t we.

  22. Let’s get distracted with Russia the big evil, and completely forget that Starmer still authorises recon flights over Gaza and continues to supply weapons and arms to Isreal. The hen are the sanctions on Isreal kicking in?

You can’t cherry pick who you want to slap sanctions on, either all are treated equally or you just admit that you have a hate on for Russia, not because it’s invaded Ukraine but simply because you need a distraction for the UK public, and Russia is a old ghoul of the 60-80s you can wave and the gullible public.

You all supporting and cheering this while he continues to wipe away at people’s right to privacy, iCloud encryption has been disabled for UK, why? Because they want to monitor people who are “not the proper people, who are criminals” – criminals will use other methods to continue their activities, only the general public is affected by such actions.

But hey, it’s ok because big bad Russia is here to distract you, and continue to distract you from the NHS being privatised, and contracts given to his mates.

Nothing to see here just another conservative government but in red.

  23. I miss having a leader worth a damn. 🙁

Fuck Cheeto Benito and all his allies.

  24. Beating the drums of war is a common tactic used by deeply unpopular leaders, maybe Starmer thinks this will be his Thatcher Falklands moment?

Unfortunately the reality will be totally different. Everyone knows that Sir Kier hasn’t got the political will to even stop unarmed African men in dinghies, let alone battle hardened Russian fighting men. The whole world is laughing at us.

  25. That explains why I am seeing ‘starmer out’ trending on twitter….

Wonder what Elmo’s assigned name is ?

  26. Considering the harm Starmer is doing to the UK, the comments in here are shocking. Labour is literally taking away peoples freedoms online and privacy on their phones, while robbing the working class and giving it away to corrupt places like Ukraine.

  27. Bloody hell, Keith, people might just start to like you, finally.

  28. Money laundering through Ukraine. Nothing will change on the battle field.

  29. No Fear Kier?

    Not what I expected.

But if he keeps this up and actually deals with immigration I’ll be voting Labour in future.
