  1. Yet this is with most testing removed, no restrictions, no mask wearing and hardly anyone testing so how high are the real figures then. Guess if you don’t test / remove free testing and simply claim you’ve “beaten Covid” then everything is good as far as the government is concerned and the various “covid is just a mild cold / nothing to worry about trolls” egging this on all the time, while Covid is still one of the 4 highest causes of death in the UK iirc.

Still too many “I don’t fucking care / it’s not my problem / refuse to take any precautions / if not now when” people will dismiss anything to do with this while adding to the risk of new variants.

    > Covid cases have surged 26 per cent in the past week taking the daily average to more than 300,000 a day.

    > There were 324,954 new daily symptomatic cases of Covid in the UK this week, up from 258,155 reported last week, according to the latest Zoe Covid Study incidence figures.

    > London, the South East, South West and East of England are reporting the highest case numbers per million people.

    > London and the South West are approaching 500 cases per 100,000 people.

    > Professor Tim Spector, lead scientist on the Zoe Covid Study app, said: “After two years of the pandemic, Covid-19 is affecting more people than ever before.

  2. Yeah, sure looks like another Covid spring and summer… I’ve seen this crap and stupid twice now, sure a shame the world is so f*cking stupid.

  3. i’ve been testing positive since tuesday night but because there’s no isolation rules i’ve been ushered to go to work in a couple of hours for a 15 hour shift

  4. I have covid right now and for me it has not been a mild cold, more like heavy flu. I’ve been ruined for 4 days now and there is no way I’d be able to go into work even if they wanted me to still go in, which thankfully they don’t. I’m also double jabbed and boosted. This is the worst I’ve felt in a long time.

  5. Tested positive on Wednesday. Extreme fatigue after 5 mins of (insert activity). Contemplating hugging my delusional “Twas but a cough” cousin.

  6. DetectiveOk1223 here with your daily coronavirus context update….

    * Hospital admissions are 50% of what they were at the last peak.

    * Average length of a hospital stay is 2.8 days vs 7 days with previous variants

    * People on ventilation is 10% of what it was at the last peak.

    * Excess deaths are below the 5 year average.

    * Daily deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate by date of death are 8% of what they were at the peak, continuing to trend down into double digits

    * 85% are double dosed, 68% boosted, 4th doses being offered to most vulnerable.

    * 98% of the country have antibodies, either through prior infection or vaccination.

  7. Alway worrying when nobody ever seems to talk about or care about the long term health effects

People still live with effects from SARS, and Long Covid / brain shrinkage is a thing we know from Covid

  8. I’ve just had it for the first time. Pretty sure I caught it from the office, as it’s the only significant place I’d been within like a week of coming down with it.

Felt like a heavy cough/mild flu to me. Even though its cleared up I’m having real issues with my asthma now, which has been under control for like the last 20 years. 😓
