The decision by selectors not to go with the national champion was also apparent on the women’s side, with runner-up Rebecca Morrison getting the nod for the Women’s World Curling Championship, and Olympic qualifier, ahead of Scottish champion Fay Henderson.

Henderson, who won the final 10-2 over Team Morrison in Dumfries, will still travel as an alternate to the Republic of Korea from 15-23 as she did when Morrison reached the European Championship semi-final in November.

Rounding off the selection announcements was the news that Mouat will pair with Olympic champion Jennifer Dodds for the World Mixed Doubles Championships from 26 April-3 May in Fredericton, Canada.

The duo won the event in 2021 and represented Great Britain in the discipline at Beijing 2022 prior to winning medals in their respective team events.
