My other half gave me food poisoning when she tried to make borscht
This is so wholesome. Congrats on the wife and the food!
Believe me everyone does not think their other half is a good cook
I assume neither of you are photographers.
You’re making me hungry!
Nope, my wife’s cooking is diabolical, even she admits it.
My other half is a terrible cook. I chase her out of the kitchen
Nope , I can state my better half is not a good cook.
OP please talk us through what we’re looking at?
ngl that looks absolutely bangin’
Looks delicious.
Looks fantastic! What is it though? Vital info is missing
My husband and I are both great cooks – I say that with confidence as we were both raised this way – his Dad cooked at home and he had to help due to his Dad’s disability. My mum cooked and taught my brother and I.
When I went to university, I was sent with books of recipes and the skills I needed to cook as much as possible, as healthily as possible… for as cheap as possible. I even used to sell meals to the boys who lived in my student house!
I could not be with a man who couldn’t cook to a high standard, that’s an absolute line for me. My stepdad cannot cook *at all* and my mother has developed osteoarthritis in her hands. It’s awful watching her desperately trying to teach this man in his 60s how to cook, knowing that she will lose her ability and never have great home cooked food ever again. She can’t even use a tin opener now.
Whenever she’s had spells in hospital, she’s had to prep meals in the freezer with instructions for him on how to defrost and heat them. She always saw it as her way of ‘providing’. Look where it’s got them now. It’s desperately sad.
I know plenty of men who talk with pride about their wives’ cooking skills, stating they themselves cannot cook at all. Everyone laughs as if that’s ok. (Obviously sometimes it may be the man that does the cooking, but let’s be honest it’s definitely less common especially in the slightly older folk).
It’s not cute. It’s not funny. It’s not normal. This is a skill that you *must* learn, unless you have the money to have a private chef for the rest of your life. Begin now, hone those skills. Take pride in it. Start the journey now if you must. You owe it to yourself and each other.
let us know the ratings of the previous nights meal on March 15th
Not everyone thinks that 😔
My best guess: sautéed peppers, broccolini, possibly Swiss chard, and chickpeas, with green bits that look to me like flat-leaf parsley; sautéed chicken breast topped with fresh tomatoes cooked into a simple sauce, with more of the green bits that might be flat-leaf parsley. Possibly rocket.
>I know everyone thinks ~~there~~ **their** other half is a good cook but my misses excelled last night!
I genuinely think I married the only Italian who can’t cook… My wife can burn water…
It’s refreshing to see people talk their partners up instead of down. I’m here for it!
My other half is a great baker but an absolutely shite cook. Your dinner looks great though.
