The power of the US military

  1. Honestly, of other Democracies strengthen their militaries and become more integrated (European Union army) I’d see that as a silver lining to this mess.

  2. If the US pulls out of Europe they’ll no longer have a say in European affairs. I wonder how well America will take being left out of the decision making process 🤔

  3. While we were protecting Europe, we were protecting our own national values and way of life. Trump surrendering to Putin is likewise a surrendering of our national values and way of life.

The “power” of the military that remains loyal to the proven and unrepentant rapist, business fraud, and serial liar Trump is intended to be turned against us right here in our United States.

  4. It’s always fascinating to me, because the US acts like they did all this “protecting” out of their goodness of their hearts, out of sheer altruism, without even a thought of their own economical and security interests. Most of the bases the US has abroad aren’t there because the US is the peak embodiment of charity. They’re bloody logistic hubs for your economic warfare in the middle east, for gods sake! No one asked you to play world police after WWII, either! You just assumed this role for your own self interest. Yes, Europe profited from it, too, no question! But fucking stop acting like you had no choice in this matter and Europe put a bloody gun at your head and forced you to spend all this money on your military… American economic and security interests were ALWAYS top priority to you. You wasted all this money out of your own volition for your own self interest! And now, since your military and your worldpolicing doesn’t pay the dividends you hoped for anymore, and because the dictator you deemed fit to serve as president for a second time will grow your pile of debt enorously AGAIN, you go around looking for someone else you can milk to carry the cost of your world domination infrastructure.

How about… no? Greetings, the rest of the world.

  5. Let’s also not forget that only the USA triggered Article 5 of the Nato up to this point.

  6. Yeah and a bunch of em caved to trump at the top. So much for fighting for the constitution. What a waste of money and merit.

  7. Remember when a big part of EU went to war in Iraq, following the US to plead their allegiance to the Empire and against all interest? You will not see that anymore.

You remember seeing France opposing the war in Iraq and opposing Israel on the treatment of Palestinians? You will see that much more often, finger crossed.

Putin has won. The western alliance is dead thanks to their kompromats.

  8. Protected lol

It has interested the US for 80 years to have a stable and prosperous Europe. It has interested them financially, militarily, politically and many other ways.

    It’s interests. Not protection.

US microchip interests in Taiwan creates the idea the US wants to protect Taiwan. That’s not true. They want to protect their interests

Take away that interest and the US won’t care about Taiwan.

We are not world police or global saviors. We are greedy and care about our interests. If you have none we dont care about you. If you do we care about you insofar as what you can do for us/how much you can make us.

  9. The US should never joke about how weak the French are again.

  10. Trump has been moving towards taking the US out of NATO in favor of joining BRICS and their aligned organizations, instead. Trump is literally implementing the scary “new world order” our right wing lunatics have been so scared of democrats trying to pull off this whole time.

But because Trump, the dear leader, can do no wrong the conservatives are celebrating instead of being pissed off.

The stupidity and active double think is mind boggling.

  11. When an alliance of Russia, North Korea, Israel and the US forms, you know you’re about to be on the wrong side of WWIII.

  12. America isn’t in Europe for Europe’s protection. It’s in Europe for its own. Why do people think we’re paying them like some kind of protection racket. I grew up on a Cold War era Navy base. How has Trump managed to convince America that its own interests should be paid for by others? America is rapidly failing.

  13. Russia is leading the new Axis Powers, Russia, North Korea and USA

  14. its frustrating the people don’t get a say as it is our tax dollars that pay for all that military, the whole point was to be a force to help the rest of the world. what happened to basic human thought processes?

  15. The US military has an insane logistics operation. Having military bases around the world with our allies enables us to operate smoothly and get resources where we need it without having to build it up from scratch. My Company when I was in the Army was an AA, which means we were able to get sent anywhere and augment with whoever because we were expected to be self sufficient with whatever supply lines were available. What the current administration and Republicans are doing to our fighting force is borderline treasonous. It’s exactly the same shit they were crying that Democrats were going to do… but here they are.

  16. It’s very hard to prove that you have prevented anything, but I think there’s a strong argument that Putin would have acted earlier and more forcefully if America wasn’t there with the threat of Mutually Assured Destruction.

  17. This logic is flawed as we want to continue to have great influence in other parts of the world to progress our objectives. However, this cartoon does characterize the sentiment in USA for A WHILE now. Americans have been saying for decades Europe needs to invest more in its own security. They have not. Americans have private insurance, Europeans have universal healthcare. Americans want what Europe has and feel they are getting it at Americas expense.

Now America still will not get universal healthcare and other European niceties like free college and better social programs, longer vacations ext. but this has honestly been a long time coming.

  18. If Putin threatens Trump will he cave and surrender the USA to Russia?
