CyBC has announced that the Spanish choreographer Borja Rueda will be choreographing the Cypriot performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Borja Rueda who has worked as a choreographer for television, music and theater will be working with Cyprus to choreograph their Eurovision performance for Basel. Borja has worked with the likes of Antonio Banderas as well as musical productions ‘Company’ and ‘Gypsy’.

He is currently the Creative Director and choreographer for the Spanish pop singer Ana Mena. He has past experience with Eurovision having worked on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid and Benidorm Fest 2024, the Spanish Eurovision selection.

Theo Evan was internally selected by the broadcaster to represent the island nation in Basel. His song for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest was recorded in Athens, Greece in November.

Silia Kapsis represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song “Liar”. She qualified for the Grand Final and placed 15th, scoring 78 points.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, with Eleni Foureira and the performance of the song “Fuego” won second place with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. In 2004, Lisa Andreas performed “Stronger Every Minute” in Istanbul, Turkey. She finished 5th in the final scoring 170 points, which included 12 points from Greece. They also placed fifth in 1997 with Hara & Andreas Constantinou and their song “Mana mou”, and in 1982 with Anna Vissi’s “Mono i agapi.”
