Found this horrible Bastard inside a Cavity Block today. Is it safe?

  1. It’s a giant house spider (that’s its actual species name, giant house spider) and not a false widow so harmless.

    They can get very big as they’re the largest species of spider we have native to Ireland.
    As an odd fact they’re actually the fastest species of ‘true spider’ in the world in terms of running and they can live for up to 8 years.

    They terrify me because of their speed, you can’t keep track of them and they’ve a penchant for Tokyo drifting right accross your sitting room floor during their mating season in autumn when they all come out to breed.
