Chairman of Central Election Commission and Ambassador of Belarus discuss issues of cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM – Chairman of the Central Election Commission Tynchtyk Shainazarov met with Ambassador of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Sergei Molunov on February 25.

The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the Embassy of Belarus Vitaly Semashko, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nurlan Koichukeev, member of the Central Election Commission Iskander Gaipkulov and employees of the Central Election Commission apparatus, the Central Election Commission reported.

Molunov congratulated Shainazarov on his election as Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan, wished him success and conveyed a message from the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus I. Karpenko.

It was said that representatives of the Central Election Commissions of the two countries have been participating as international observers in elections and referendums for many years, which contributes to the exchange of experience and strengthening of democratic processes.

Shainazarov expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for participating in the observation of the elections to local councils in Kyrgyzstan, which took place on November 17, 2024.

He also spoke about the recent elections to local councils, noting that they were held within the framework of the administrative and territorial reform.

“Kyrgyzstan is ready to further develop cooperation with Belarus on issues of improving electoral legislation, democratic reforms and increasing the transparency of the electoral process,” Shainazarov added.
