  1. This is bad fucking form if true. In today’s business world you need to have everything recorded, preferably in writing. If the company can prove they’ve made no gin or alcoholic drinks with the 50,000 liters then surely they would be granted tax exemption? If they have confirmation and the revenue have renegade on it, I hope they claim damages. I hate claim culture, but a €2m odd tax bill out of the blue for a company that stepped up and used their skills/tech or whatever to close a deal with a government body is shitty. I know a man who was ruined by making a deal with a large forecourt fuel company. He bought new vans, hired new staff and they denied there was ever a contract because the person he dealt with didn’t have the authority to make the decision. For that to happen from a government body would be disgusting. I hope they have kept plenty of records, fighting this could be just as expensive!
