Following the meeting that the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, held last week at the Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure, the Government of the Republic of Croatia will adopt a conclusion at today’s session on the urgent and extraordinary rehabilitation of the Srđ slope above the D8 state road. The aim is to protect the most critical section of the road and prevent further landslides.
As a reminder, during the meeting in Zagreb, it was agreed that Hrvatske ceste (Croatian Highways) and the Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure will take the necessary actions to prevent and reduce the risk of further landslides onto the road and related accidents, while the City of Dubrovnik will provide support in coordinating with landowners.
It was concluded that the necessary procedures will be initiated to implement emergency intervention measures and install protective structures along the most critical 150-metre section of the D8, based on existing project documentation. This will serve as the foundation for further development of a comprehensive, long-term solution for landslide protection along the D8 section.
The proposal regarding the implementation of emergency and extraordinary rehabilitation measures for the most endangered section of the Srđ slope above the DC8 state road is on the agenda of today’s open session of the government.
