  1. When you can even smell the burning of corpses, but you are like “just need my cologne, the final solution bottle”

  2. To be fair, it was something like a not protected secret. See it like this: if there is a place in your neighbourhood, that you can’t look in, often Times trucks drive to the building bringing… something, and sometims you hear screaming from this place, you would probably think, that something isn’t right, maybe even that what happens there is absolutely not ok but you, as a normal citizen, wouldn’t probably come up with the evil that happened in the KZs simply because, come on, nobody in his right mind would be that gruesome.

EDIT: the Holocaust was very gruesome, I just wanted to say, that this level of gruesomeness could have probably not be comprehended by normal citizens

  3. Well, they knew about the camps but the regime provided propaganda to ensure them that it was very nice, so they could just pretend (to themselves as well as the world) as if their Jewish neighbors whos watch they bought for cheap must be fine right now

  4. “I thought they just enjoyed barbecuing a lot”

  5. One Thing thats actually interesting, the less worse camps, the concentration Camps were erected early during Nazi Germany. It was to show enemies that their time will come, or to stop any rebellious thought arising. The early camps were meant to be seen by the general populace. However during the war, almost exclusively, the termination camps whose sole purpose was murdering as much as possible were built in Eastern Europe. The ones the Germans saw were intended to scare anyone into behaving and Provinz the state will prosecute those “at fault” for their bad times. This still and 100% does not excuse the inaction by many and just Shows that almost every German back then supported the Regime and its actions. However even the NS-regime knew that showing the termination camps would tip over alot of inactive Germans into Action. Almost everyobe knew of the Holocaust, to varying degrees.

  6. WHAT THE FUCK IS A MILE 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

  7. If you have Netflix, give Band of Brothers a try. Episode 9 is all about how a troop of paratroopers discover a camp, and the people from the village next over didnt know about what went on in the camp, except an officers wife

  8. Five miles down the road is at least three villages away. No idea what those savages are doing over there. I don’t even speak their dialect.

  9. „Ahhh, das war der Geruch, ich dachte, jemand würde ständig grillen„
