  1. explains why 1 dog died, a pill bottle with pills scattered. dog went to be with wife and ate the pills and was found close to her in closet. other 2 dogs were not in room and didn’t eat pills
would pin it on the wife taking her own life after he passed

but then there was the open door and moved heater

  2. I’ve never heard of a dog eating pills voluntarily.

Edit: To clarify, No dog I have ever owned (well over a dozen) has done this. I have to put the pill on the back of tongue and hold the head up. Hiding it in food only works with smaller pills, otherwise my dogs will spit the pill out.

  3. There were some tabloid pictures from a year or so ago of Gene in NM. His appearance was shocking and I would never have recognized him. He was so extremely thin that he didn’t look anything like the man we’re familiar with. It’s not hard for me to believe he could have fallen and been badly injured.

  4. Cue right wingers talking about how they had dirt on the Clintons

  5. Oh, this is awful. When I read it this morning, I thought they passed in their sleep from Carbon Monoxide. That was sad and tragic this is awful.

  6. I might get downvoted for this, but I think the theory that she killed herself because Gene died is ridiculous. He was 95, he was 32 years her senior – she had to have accepted a long time ago that she would eventually bury him. I think it’s more likely that she committed suicide for some unrelated reason and he, being 95, couldn’t take care of himself. Or there is else sinister at play here.

  7. >Gene’s wife, Betsy Arakawa, was found in the bathroom .. w a black space heater near her head.

College gf used to keep a space heater in their bathroom bc she couldn’t tolerate — starting out her day with — sitting on cold toilet seat. Yes, she actually got up, turned on the space heater and immediately returned to bed (until it reached desired temperature)

  8. Maybe it was something they ate? Does anyone know what pills she was consuming?

Either that or maybe an argument, she pushed him he dies, and then she couldn’t live with herself?

The dog here either died from being hungry and eating the pills or stress.

  9. My brother was found by his neighbor deceased in his living room. Apparently he had a heart attack as soon as he went inside and the door was open so she saw him. His two dogs were able to go outside and were ok. But he lived in the country and because his door was open, his truck was missing and his gun safe was open and empty, the sheriff launched an investigation for foul play. The truck was in the shop and he had given his rifles to his hunting friends. He was only there a couple of days, but if the door hadn’t been open, he could have been there for months before he was found, especially since his truck was gone. And thankfully the dogs weren’t locked in with him and were safe. Its strange that the good has to be taken with the bad.

  10. Detective: “this is generally not suspicious, but the front door was open so because of that singular outlining detail that technically counts as suspicious, we will conduct a full investigation as per the usual procedure.”

Dumbass Conspiracy Theory Redditors: “I knew it! It’s a murder they are trying to cover up!!!”

  11. Wow. This is awful. What in the hell could’ve happened? Poor family. My gosh.

  12. Fuck it actually got worse while I was sleeping. I went to bed it was carbon monoxide now…. Holy crap

  13. >*The deceased dog, a German Shepherd, was found in a closet of the bathroom*

Both times my sister’s house was burgled, they corralled her dog into the closet. Just a miniature Pinscher (e.g. low/no chance it could actually harm them); albeit his bark is annoying AF

  14. It’s kind of sad that no one checked in on them. Two weeks is a long time and to think that there were no family or maybe kids that checked in on them is sad

  15. Such odd and tragic circumstances. I assumed carbon monoxide, but now it sounds like she either took her life after finding his body or he found her, was going to get help, and fell. Either way, incredibly sad and much more violent than what I expected.

  16. I’ve heard about 50 different versions of what might have happened today. Each one expounded with the greatest of confidence.

  17. Tons of speculatuon about the dog in this post, but could yall not be fucked to read the damn articles? The dog was trapped in a kennel.
