  1. I don’t believe it will, however it will doom the United States in particular. Here’s what’s going to happen…

The world is rapidly shifting away from LNG, coal, and oil. Our fossil fuel economy will collapse in the face of rapid deflation in solar and more importantly battery storage. The US hasn’t pivoted in time, and is outmoded.

Additionally, the world wants to dedollarize, in particular the global south. Solarizing an economy with battery storage both removes the need for dollar reserves in their central banks and the need to buy US fossil fuels.

This is where China steps in with the solution, the alternative energy manufacturing overcapacity, and battery technologies that are rapidly progressing and on a declining cost curve. Again, this is the same cost curve that’s deflating while the oil/gas cost curve is inflating due to the depletion of conventional oil and the replacement with more expensive shale plays.

Look at what [BYD is doing in Saudi Arabia](https://cleantechnica.com/2025/02/20/byd-earns-contract-for-worlds-largest-grid-scale-battery-storage-projects-in-saudi-arabia/) for a glimpse of the future. The disruption of the fossil fuel economy and by extension the petrodollar is here and now. It has the manufacturing capacity of China and the funding of entire national governments behind it. I’m seeing the headlines pop up this year in Egypt, Pakistan, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and Europe has quietly been doing it but will accelerate it to cut off Russia/US further.

Trump acting like a raving lunatic and isolating us, is just jet fuel to the fire.

Now, either the US can pull off a renewables Manhattan Project, or get out of the world’s way.

  2. Now’s the time to make much more considerate decisions as consumers and live as sustainably as is feasible

  3. >On stage at the New York Times’ Climate Forward summit on Wednesday, Heritage Foundation president and Project 2025 architect Kevin Roberts boldly declared that “the climate agenda is ending the American dream.”

He’s not wrong, but people need to understand why “The American Dream” is a problem. Here: https://canadiandimension.com/articles/view/transcending-the-imperial-mode-of-living an interview related to a book.

Climate chaos will end “The American Dream” too, but in a chaotic and uncontrolled way. It would be better to do it in a planned and smart way.

Yes, I will “dream shame”. If your dreams are world destroying, they’re a problem, and you can get new ones.

This problem has been around since the 1990 at least. President George H. Bush said at the 1992 Earth Summit:

    >“The American way of life is not up for negotiations. Period.”
