On her visit to the Meadow Street Community Garden, Kate wore a short brown tweed Ralph Lauren jacket that has been with her for more than 18 years, and is even older than her marriage! She layered her tweed coat over a brown roll-neck jumper and a tartan midi skirt. A yellow daffodil, the Welsh national flower, was pinned to her lapel. Slouchy brown knee-high boots completed her look.
Earlier in February, The Sunday Times reported in an article titled, “Princess of Wales: Focus on My Work, Not My Wardrobe”, that Kensington Palace “will no longer release details of her outfits” in a move that signals Kate’s “wish for the focus to be on her work, not her wardrobe.”
However, a Kensington Palace spokesperson clarified in a statement to PEOPLE: “Over the last week, I have received numerous questions about a story regarding the Princess of Wales’s clothing and how Kensington Palace shares information about her outfits. To clarify, the comments that appeared in the article were from me, not the Princess of Wales. The comments that were reported should not be directly attributed to the Princess of Wales. To be clear, there has been no change in our approach to sharing information about Her Royal Highness’s clothing.”
