LIMERICK champions Kildimo-Pallaskenry will renew rivalry with Tipperary’s Cappawhite in the All-Ireland Junior ‘B’ hurling series final following their respective All-Ireland semi-final wins in Raheenagh on last Saturday.
Saturday’s All-Ireland Junior ‘B’ hurling decider will take place in Killeedy GAA Grounds at 2pm.The game will be shown live on Clubber TV.
Kildimo-Pallaskenry recorded a dramatic 3-8 to 1-13 victory over Cappawhite in the Munster final of the series played at Raheenagh earlier this month.Munster champions Kildimo-Pallaskenry defeated Kilrush Askamore, of Wexford, 0-17 to 1-11, to book their All-Ireland final place.
A whirlwind start to the game which yielded eight points without reply from Aaron O’Donovan helped propel the Limerick side into the final.Kildimo-Pallaskenry were still seven points to the good, 0-14 to 0-7, mid-way through the second half.
The Wexford side did strike for the game’s only goal in the 56th minute to leave three points between the teams, 0-15 to 1-9. However, a resolute Kildimo-Pallaskenry side succeeded in sealing victory.
Kildimo-Pallaskenry’s opponents in the final will be Cappawhite who ran out 2-11 to 0-15 victors over Three Castles, of Kilkenny, in their semi-final also played at Raheenagh on Saturday.
Killeedy GAA club are hosts of the Leinster, Munster and All-Ireland Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championships. Kildimo-Pallaskenry are aiming to follow in footsteps of Monaleen who lifted the All-Ireland Junior ‘B’ title last year.
Rodger Ryan, Aaron O’Donovan and Cathal Downes combined impressively in their side’s victory over Cappawhite in the Munster final scoring 3-8 between them.
Downes was previously part of the Limerick senior football panel up until this year and the Kildimo-Pallaskenry attacker has been part of his side’s senior hurling team in the past.
Kildimo Pallaskenry defeated Tulla in the provincial semi-final, while the city based club received a walkover against the Kerry champions in the Munster quarter-final.
