Why did this dog exist at all if they’ve been banned? Every single XL bully and anything like it should be compulsory euthanised. Owners of dogs who attack people should be treated as if they have carried out the attack themselves.
Police do nothing about these dogs – it’s a fucking disgrace. I was born and raised in London, and you see people with them all the time, every week.
I saw some teenage girl with a pitbull almost lose control of it, when it tried to attack a kid on the overland train, at Kentish Town one time. Seen them going for people numerous times.
There’s zero enforcement, so people just breed them and openly walk around with them like it’s nothing.
They’re responsible for the vast majority of deaths and injuries related to dogs, and its not even close.
There’s nothing left to say. We all know the owners are scum, we all know the dogs are a death trap. We all know the police do nothing about it.
Just avoid them if you see them, cross the road, leave the park. Do whatever you have to to stay safe.
That poor girl and her family. It’s beyond sad.
But I’m betting this dog was rarely walked and never mentally stimulated.
I’m a staffy owner of 12 years, on our 2nd rescue. Our old boy and our current girl get a total of 90 mins walk a day. That’s with some ball play on the walks, then also playing games at home on top. We use games and walks to reinforce commands.
On walks I’ve had people comment how it’s so unusual for a staffy to be so energetic.
The amount of people who think bull breeds are lazy is insane. They’re not lazy, they don’t want to sit inside and do nothing all day. They’re a living creature which needs exercise and mental stimulation.
Combine a strong dog with boredom and pent up energy and you’re just asking for trouble.
Singapore. Densely populated. Quite a few dogs. All dogs on leads. Larger breeds ( Alsatian etc).muzzled at all times. Dog licenses. No Bully XL or similar breeds at all. Banned list and would be destroyed anyway.
Such a sensible country.
At this point the owners should be getting murder charges. These weapons are only purchased for one reason, the same as public gun ownership. To make pathetic, sub humans feel superior and to threaten others. They’re not sweet innocent animals. Post all the TikTok clips you like, these things were bred specifically to be weapons of terror. The last person that should be allowed to own them is a monster swilling 8 stone chav.
1000% better enforcement/harsher penalties urgently needed, especially in a country in which carrying anything remotely capable of enabling you to defend yourself against these monstrosities masqueraded as “pets” will land you in court/prison.
This is the easiest problem to solve. Get rid of them all. Reward people for reporting one, prosecution for owning one, prison for breeding/importing them. Make the definition broad and encompassing, and fuck you if you want to quibble about genetics and exact breeding lines. You having the dog you want is not remotely important. If you went about with a leopard then you’d rightly get arrested, especially if it was unmuzzled/unleased. P.S. No one cares if your Tiddles wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Require a licence for any dog regardless of breed that weighs over, let’s say 35kg. Yes I do know that will catch a few non problematic breeds.
That way all this nonsense about oh it’s not an XL Bully it’s a Bully XXL goes away
Refuse all licenses for dogs or people you don’t like the look of. Penalty for your dog not having a license: dog destroyed, six months inside for you

I’ve owned dogs of all my breeds my whole life and my favourite, most loving, happy dogs I’ve had are a breed that some people might judge negatively so I’m personally wary of being judgmental. However, this breed is worrying, I’ve encountered one properly once and don’t get me wrong, it was friendly, wagging it’s tail, well behaved but the size and power of it, knowing there isn’t a single thing I or anyone could do if it switched is genuinely quite scary. When they’re in the hands of idiots, it’s a recipe for disaster
