The name “time of troubles” suggests that it would end at some point, because after it there are no troubles. The dissolution of the USSR would be called “second time of troubles” if Putin (or a next ruler) manages to restore it. But until it’s restored, it’s just a dissolution. So, it’s just the Dissolution of the Russian Federation.

Give them a politician who will promise to “make Russia great again” and let them take their own country to shit and break up.
I’m fine with this but it would be 300 years of small scale conflicts over mines, vodka fueled border skirmishes and other resource-grabs. I mean nobody gives a damn about anything east of Moscow anyways but an opportunistic China might try to annex or vassalize the natural wealth of siberia in the long term.
Again, not that I care what happens to them, just wonder how it would change international dynamics later on.
