  13. This was a hit job from the outset. Vance’s job was to shit disturb and whip Trump into a frenzy. Zelensky has been more than magnanimous in expressing his gratitude to the U.S. for financial aid. He’s probably glad he didn’t dress up for this shit show.

  33. This is a very clear example of why you negotiate in private, and then once you have an agreement *then* you go public and say a few things and shake hands.

    When you do it in public you get grandstanding for the cameras and tempers flaring for all to see. I suspect Trump was trying to do it more in public to try to browbeat Zelensky. Most people don’t want big confrontation like this and so they just go along with that tactic to make it stop, but Zelensky wasn’t having it.
