I think that USA are always less reliable as time passes by: Kurdistan, Afghanistan and now Ukraine show that USA have the tendency to abandon their allies when that war isn’t anymore a business for them. And I don’t think that it depends only on Trump, but US society is so divided that every presidential change can revolt completely all the geopolitical situation, in one way or in another, and this makes USA a sitemic unreliable country.
As a Brit. We’ve spent most of my life pretending to be the 51st state of the USA.
Now all of a sudden we are acting like the 28th state of the European Union again.

As a Polish / American living 50/50 in both countries — here’s the real deal — average Americans are living in way more poorer situations than my average European friends – BY FAR not even close – child care, social security net, food regulations, leaves for sickness and child birth, vacation time and PTO, health quality, road and safety quality, just overall in general not even close. I’ve lived and traveled all over EU. Why the fuck are American protecting us at the expense of their living quality? They will easily say nah fuck it boyz we want that good sweet 35 hour work weeks with two month vacations. Europe gonna need to pay up now – fun times are over. With the exception of Poland (which mind you trump fully said no problem there we love Poland ) – EU spent money on quality of life and were cheapskates on defense and security at the expense of Americans losing quality of life – pay up bitches !

But except that, he is still only an elected president, and after 4 years he will be gone. Forever this time. So let us hope there will be someone with different vision in the office. In the meantime other NATO members should ready themselves to be sufficient without America.
