Winter can fuck right off, because it’s the first day of spring. Yes, yes, it’s the meteorological start rather than the astronomical one that’s on the 20th, for the pedants.

The lurgy is in retreat.
My current book is enjoyable and the pile of future books grows taller.
I am waiting for a doctor to come and see me. I caved and called 111 at 4AM and explained my back pain, they put it straight through for an out of hours GP, who was not nice to me at all.
I had to explain that I live alone, I’m terrified, and I’m struggling to even get to the bathroom. I’ve been waiting a couple of hours to hear from the home visit team and I’ve heard nothing, so hanging on for 111 again because my back has now started going into a spasm every few minutes and I can’t breathe when it does that. Fun times.
Was gonna say, OP, my birthday’s 21st March, which makes me a certified Spring Chicken! 🧐
Quiet one today thankfully. Think the wife and MIL are off for a mooch round the shops this morning with the kiddo so I might get into the garden and tidy it up a bit… maybe.
Spring is definitely in the air!
My 5 year old has been wearing shorts to bed for weeks and last weekend asked for the paddling pool out “because it’s sunny” – this is why he has a faint tan by May every year despite never going abroad.
Up from 6 on the dot today, obviously because it’s the weekend. I don’t mind as much when it’s actually light though. Might walk to the shop for croissants in a bit, then we’ll go into town for library, park, shops etc. Do a couple of jobs in the house.
Date night tonight, I’m so excited! Early Chinese dinner then we’re watching The Monkey, home by 9 to relieve the grandparents and put the little man to bed – he won’t sleep until I’m home and as he’s actually in a half decent routine these days I don’t want to ruin it!
I got my washing done at stupid o clock this morning.
Other than that im having a lazy day doing fuck all cos I can’t go to the pub this afternoon.
I saw the sun come up over swansea bay this mormkmg but I hadn’t woken up properly, it never occurred to me to take a photo. Its going to be a really nice day by the looks.
Also, fuck winter from me too.
Car passed its MOT yesterday. It’s 23 years old and quite a rare model so I am very pleased. Today I intend on going into the Highlands and throwing it round some empty B roads in celebration.
Woke up today with the garden frozen and temperatures of -1. Spring has gone again!
Son’s birthday tomorrow. Soft play with his friends today then I need to make a cake.
About to get up and go make breakfast, then walk down to Sainsbury’s to do some shopping. After that I’m going to get the bus over to the tip because I have some small electrical items I need to get rid of. I have never been to the tip (other than maybe driving through in my dad’s car once as a kid), so this is simultaneously very exciting but also kind of daunting! I feel like I’ve unlocked a key milestone of being a proper adult somehow.
Once home I need to shower and wash my hair, do a bit of cleaning and make lunch. Then it’s off to my board games meetup this afternoon/evening.

Nothing. Staying in bed. Not in a good way mentally.
Currently having a under the duvet snuggle with one of the cats. Obviously the best way to start any day. Once she’s had enough (in about 15 minutes) it’s shower time and getting the bus to go shopping and getting a naughty McDonald’s breakfast as a reward for another month at work.
It’s mum’s 80th next week, so popping out later to get some posh chocolates as a last minute surprise present.
Pilates by Zoom this morning as I am finding the irl classes too intimidating and I keep comparing myself to the others who are all ripped and brilliant. Then drilling some holes in the wall and then late lunch with the neighbours (not connected).
Well. The plan was to sleep a bunch because the insomnia kept me up till 4am, but I got woken up at 7 by someone bashing on the bedroom door.
Have to say having to give your own dad a Heimlich manoeuvre is an interesting way to wake up. He’s learnt the very important lesson of not sucking on throat sweets lying down.
Anywho, coffee now the adrenaline has worn off I think, and I’ll play some Animal Crossing.
28 today, when do people stop being considered young?
It’s at the point now I find out a colleague is 20 and I’m thinking Jesus wtf. Doesn’t help I have a parrot that’s 23 this year
Spring is pretty firmly not in the air. I’m gearing myself up to scrape my windscreen to head to parkrun!
Got fog in the air here this morning. Doesn’t feel like spring, but it’s time for me to start my hay fever meds and spend the next few months questioning whether or not I took one today.
Planning a walk along the river to see my swan buddies and look out for an Egyptian goose chick a friend saw recently. I hope it’s doing well. They’ve gotta be susceptible to cold snaps, breeding so early in the year. Fingers crossed for greylags too. They’ve shown up by the swans a few times recently.
I got home from work not long ago. I’ve hung some washing out in a fit of springtime optimism, even though there’s frost on the ground. I’m not expecting it to dry completely, just more dry than it is now will be fine. I’m now in bed with a purring cat beside me. It’s a shame to miss out on a lovely sunny day, but it’s bedtime for me. Night night.

Might invest in another time share. I only have two but most of my circle have at least three, so I’m trying to keep up with the joneses
Its our friend’s birthday so we’re going for a curry then a night out. There’s 21 of us and I only know 4 people. Looking forward to it though! First night out of the year.

Yippee off to the hook Norton brewery today to see if it is going to be our future wedding venue and later off to do a paranormal investigation at Warmley Clock tower till 2am which should be bloody chilly.
sitting in mcdonalds waiting for my MOT to be done, then going to a jewellery making morning! should be a good day!
Travelling to see family for the next few days. Funeral for my Nan on Monday. Going to be nice to see so many loved ones and a memorable day, even if it’ll be a sad one.
