I don’t see what’s to be gained by not going.
Zelensky said it best himself, to the effect that relations between countries go far beyond the personal relationships of the people at the top. Trump may be an aberration, or he may indeed be the new reality of the US for the coming years/decades, but that doesn’t mean Ireland needs to preemptively cut off that access until it is unsalvageable beyond all reasonable hopes.
Quite frankly, it would be dumb to waste the opportunity.

As far as I can see they set Zelensky up to humiliate him, and did it because it plays well with domestic American First audiences, and (I admit this is more speculative) possibly to distract from the Epstein release non event.
I am seriously worried the Taoiseach will be humiliated by Trump simply because it will make an enjoyable spectacle for his base support.
This absolutely should be reconsidered. If it goes ahead I hope the Taoiseach has a plan for being publicly harangued about Irish tax policy by prominent members of the administration.

Personally I think MM is the best man for this job. He can’t not go and I would trust him to conduct himself properly, diplomatically and not tolerate any bullshit. He’ll be smarter than his US counterpart too.
