  1. Meeting failed because the US leadership are Russian asshats. Sorry, assets. My bad 👀

  2. Zelensky was ambushed with. Unbelievable personal attack by the orange chimps VIP

  3. THe VP would not have said boo without the express approval of the commander in chief, this was Trumps trap.

  4. I can’t decide if JD Vance is a twat or a dick. The way he talks to Zelenskeyy makes me want to throw up.

  5. Sounds like Vance is playing Trump as much as Musk is, he’s just not so flashy with a chainsaw. He doesn’t want the fickle Trump getting persuaded, after all.

  6. And there we have it.

Vance is a wild card and Turnip is a vegetable.

Z was set up.  Then they told the press to leave.  They played the Duke Wayne calvary charge and stepped on a a landmine.

This was a set up from the get go.

  7. Using the term ‘propaganda tours’ when referencing destroyed Ukrainian cities was particularly low

  8. Reddit show’s a comment count of 10, yet there are none visible? What’s going on?

Anyway, for what it’s worth, the title seems to absolve Trump of any wrongdoing here? That’s bullshit. That Orange Shit-gibbon is all over this fiasco.

  9. That mess was planned. You don’t invite the Russian state media for the first time by “accident” unless there was a “show” to put on. Trump even said that was great television.

I’m waiting for the European response. An actual military plan. Not more words that they are standing with Ukraine. Actual plans…..

Like EU minerals deal that will be used to cover the expenses of a European army that Ukraine will be a apart of.

Something strong that backs Ukraine and establishes European defense industry that will help Ukraine 200%

Like something that removes the US dependency.

How does a 12 trillion dollar block fail at its own security. EU it’s Time to wake up.

  10. Russian TASS was invited so it was obviously pre planned. Vance led the attack. Trump was obviously involved because Vance would not have spoken like that without permission. Elon Musk was also involved based on how quickly he tried to spin the comments afterwards.

  11. The problem with facing an ex comedian is that comedians are good at reading people, and quick thinkers. JD was outwitted by a person who had his number when he opened his trap(pun intended). Facing the cast of Dumb and Dumber is not difficult.

  12. That was exactly my thinking when I first saw the video.
It was deliberate from Vance, very well though of and probably instructed line of questioning.

  13. Lindsey graham said he warned zelensky about taking the bait, so he may have known that Vance was going to be an idiot and turn this into a political speech, which he did. I hope Lindsey Graham can patch this up

  14. Meanwhile, Trump:

**1. Destabilizing Global Alliances & World Peace**

Undermined NATO and emboldened authoritarian leaders like Putin and Kim Jong-un.

**2. Eroding Democratic Institutions & Norms**

Spread election lies leading to Jan. 6 and attacked the free press as “enemy of the people.”

**3. Fueling Domestic Extremism & Political Violence**

Encouraged white supremacist groups and distrust in elections, worsening division.

    **4. Economic & Trade Instability**

Launched trade wars and passed tax cuts that favored the wealthy while increasing the deficit.

    **5. Mishandling Global Crises**

Downplayed COVID-19, spread misinformation, and withdrew from the WHO.

    **6. Corruption & Ethical Violations**

Used the presidency for personal financial gain and faced multiple legal battles.

    **7. Environmental Destruction**

Rolled back climate regulations and withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement.

**8. Unpredictability & Lack of Accountability**

Flip-flopped on policies, attacked opponents, and governed with chaos.

  15. Vance. The eyeliner wearing clown.

Trump is a puppet to Putin

Vance is a puppet to Trump

  16. While I agree that this was pre-planned, i think the intent was to put Zelenskyi on the backfoot so as to put him in a weak negotiating position for the minerals deal (Trump and Vance’s repeated references to how bad his hand is, and how the Ukrainian army is having to conscript soldiers, etc.).

I don’t think Trump meant to blow the whole thing up, but I also don’t think he especially cares that he did.

I think Vance had a more active unplanned role than most ppl seem to think.

I’m specifically referring to the way Vance, when presented with an actual argument by Zelenskyi (“we had signed peace agreements with Putin, but they weren’t respected [so we need security guarantees]”) responded by saying “you’re being disrespectful in the Oval Office (…) you didn’t thank us.” This emotional response was chosen by Vance to trigger TRUMP’s sense of grievance. And did, immediately.

    What a disgusting spectacle.

  17. The term is ambush, a trap implies some degree of cunning or skill- any moron can perform an ambush.

This whole thing feels reminiscent of Trump inviting Schumer and Pelosi to the White House in 2018 and staging a public spat with them.

It’s not a coincidence that Russian media was invited to this event, they intended to cause a scene one way or another. Either Zelensky would go along with their ‘gotta surrender to Russia, otherwise WW3’ crap OR they’d yell at him and entertain their fans (who tend to share a lot in common with people who watch reality tv).

For Vance, this was an opportunity to raise his profile in anticipation of running for president in 2028- he tried to emulate Trump’s style and it is pretty clear he can’t do it. Lots of Republicans have tried to emulate Trump’s political style since 2016, but it comes from his background as an entertainer- if you can’t do standup, you probably can’t pull off Trump’s delivery (which is why most comedians can pull it off).

I feel like the political momentum is shifting towards Zelensky, little by little- early on Trump kept him at arm’s length and did his best to ignore. Two months later, he is at the White House and Trump is trying to blow up the relationship with a deliberately staged argument. Being supportive of Russia isn’t a winning position for Trump, and he can’t ignore Ukraine and hope it goes away.
